We serve at-risk youth through mentoring and encouragement.

Letter from the President

Fall 2007 - Earnest Alexander

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, I want to share the many blessings for which I am thankful this year.  I thank God for Jesus, who helps me to recognize that He is being kind to me through each of you.  Many of you have been very gracious to support us financially, prayerfully and by volunteering your time.  As always, I am truly grateful and I thank God for each of you.  I thank God for the United States of America.  This is a country where I, a fatherless boy, born in the throes of poverty at a most difficult time in a difficult place, can grow up to be a father to fatherless boys.  And I thank God for Youth Horizons, an organization that has been a tremendous blessing to many, many children and families.

In our campaign brochure for 2008, we boldly declare that fatherlessness will not continue on our watch.  The numbers are frightening: one in four children-25 million boys and girls-are growing up without a father.  The statistics show that fatherlessness is affecting our children in very real ways, from their behavior to their education.

Please join us in our fight to end fatherlessness.  There are numerous ways to aid our ministry.  You could consider underwriting expenses in the programs, helping with one of the projects at the group home or beginning a mentoring relationship with a child.

However you decide to assist the work of Youth Horizons, I thank you with all my heart.  May God bless you and your loved ones richly this season.
