![]() Volunteering at Youth HorizonsKinloch Price Boys RanchLandscaping Group:A group of individuals that get together on a monthly basis to perform regular upkeep to the flowerbeds and plants located at Kinloch Price Boys Ranch. Work Projects:A group of individuals that get together on the second Saturday of every month to perform upkeep to the property. This includes removing brush, cleaning, power washing, etc. This is usually a more labor-specific project. OfficeOffice mailings:Usually once every month, this group helps put together statements, letters, folders, and event mailings for the organization. This includes folding, stuffing, labeling, and stamping. Groups range in size between 5-10 individuals. Office phones/door greeter:Youth Horizons seeks good communicators to answer phones for a consistent time each week. Since this is a high commitment responsibility, volunteers make a commitment up front of six months to fill this slot. Mornings (9-12) and Afternoons (1-4). The interview process for this position is more intensive than others. Cleaning:A few times each year, Youth Horizons likes to have a group of individuals help deep clean the administrative offices & kitchens of both the main office building and the Kinloch Price offices. This would include vacuuming, dusting, general clean up, etc. Cooking for events:Events come up occasionally where we need food. This could be hosting an orientation night with snacks, providing cookies or desserts for an event, or providing dinner. Office assistance:Periodically, assistance is needed to help the office run more fluidly. This would include filing, organizing, shredding papers, etc. Events:There are a number of events that Youth Horizons hosts. This includes a Christmas Concert, Mentoring Christmas Party, Fall Festival, Summer Family Fun, Easter SunRun, etc. There are a number of volunteer opportunities with each event. Calling campaigns:In order to get the best number of RSVPs possible, Youth Horizons likes to contact mentors and families that have not responded by a calling campaign. These call times are usually in the evening and occur every few months. Special ProjectsAdopt-a-Room:Many of our offices are outdated and need a lift, so we would appreciate any group that would like to underwrite an office, reconstructing it and decorating. This would include purchasing the materials needed, organizing the group to perform the needed tasks, and putting it all back together again. Staff Recognition:As a fun thing to do for those who work for Youth Horizons, we like to send them home with a “Birthday Basket” of goodies to say thank you and you are special. If you would like to take this on as a group, we would ask that you commit for a year up front so that all staff members would get to participate. This would include purchasing the items, organizing the efforts of those involved, and delivering it to the office on the individual’s birthday.
